Penalty Shooter

Controls in Penalty Shooter are designed for a single finger or a single hand on the mouse. There is no menu of buttons to memorise — just a swipe.

Taking the Penalty

• Aim: Touch the ball and drag in the direction you want to shoot. The further you drag, the more power you put behind the kick.
• Curve: Drag in an arc instead of a straight line. The ball follows the shape of your swipe, so a long curve will bend the ball around a diving keeper into the far corner.
• Release: Lift your finger (or release the mouse) to launch the shot. Timing matters — hesitate and the keeper has time to read you.

Playing the Keeper

• Watch the drag: The shooter has to draw their path on screen, which gives you a fraction of a second to read intent.
• Dive: Swipe in the direction you want to dive — left, right, high, low. Stay centred if you think they are trying to chip it down the middle.
• Commit late: Diving too early gives the shooter time to change angle. The best saves come from the latest possible reaction.

Strategy Tips

• Never shoot the same spot twice in a row — a smart keeper will eat your second attempt.
• Mix curves and straight strikes to keep the keeper guessing about your style.
• Target the corners — top bins are unsavable when the curve is right, but a missed target is a missed kick.
• As keeper, trust your gut — overthinking the swipe usually means diving too late.

Penalty Shooter distills football down to its most dramatic moment — the spot kick. No long matches, no midfield buildup, no offside calls. Just twelve metres, one ball, and the keeper between you and the net. Every round is a duel, and every duel can swing the entire shootout.

You play both sides of the pressure. As the taker, you draw the path of the ball with a swipe — straight, curved, dipped, or rising — and trust your nerve to find the corner. As the goalkeeper, you read the shooter's drag, anticipate the angle, and dive at the last possible instant. Get it right and you become the hero; get it wrong and the crowd roars for the other side.

The format is the classic five-on-five shootout. Score more than you concede across the round and the win is yours. The longer you play, the better you read tells — a tiny hesitation, a swipe that starts too wide — and the more confidently you mix straight strikes with curl shots that bend around a diving keeper. Easy to pick up after one match, hard to put down after twenty.
